The field of international development is a robust one, with countless noble (and sometimes ignoble approaches and counter-approaches vying for a limited pool of resources. Where at least some of these approaches fall short, however, is that they neglect to make an effort to speak with and understand the communities they purport to serve. Our programs are of a different variety in that they are locally designed and grown, drawn upon community strengths, and seek to directly benefit the people we partner with through scalable, sustainable income-generating projects.

• Our computer learning centers (The Net Gain Project), are designed to provide access to information and communication technologies as well as associated competencies to economically and/or geographically dislocated populations across the globe, while serving as community-run businesses capable of generating the income necessary to sustain themselves.

• Project Clean Slate offers multi-day workshops wherein participants--through a learning-by-doing process of education--are taught how to turn discarded paper products into recycled paper by hand. Participants then learn how to bind the recycled paper product into journals or postcards that can be sold for the community’s direct benefit.

• Our Volunteer Abroad Initiative allows socially conscious travelers to serve on small, sustainable projects that are guided and informed by local communities and Indian-based non-governmental organizations, as well as sample some of the scenic and cultural highlights of Northern India.
