The More Than Tomorrow Project holds the following values as core:

Compassion: We hold that all human life—irrespective of longitude or latitude—has equal value; we also recognize that the needs and desires of others are comparable to our own, and if our needs should be met, then so too should theirs. We further believe in the transformative potential of work done out of a selfless concern for the welfare of others and hope to create a climate in which altruism is viewed as a marketable, worthwhile commodity.

Creativity: We believe in a creative approach towards problem solving that is both optimistic and pragmatic. Creativity comes in a diversity of forms, and we hold as “foreign” the notion that there is one “best” solution towards a given problem. We also recognize that many of the solutions towards overcoming poverty will come from those living with it everyday.

Commitment: We honor our work and those we work with, with an unwavering commitment. Commitment involves following through on promises made and staying the course when much suggests that to do so will cause discomfort. Commitment also involves careful attention to detail, working within the boundaries of our competencies and mission, and doing all work correctly.

Cross-Cultural Understanding: We seek, through our partnerships, to promote a greater understanding of “other” cultures, values, and languages on the part of both our volunteers and our host communities. We respect the multiplicity of approaches towards life and seek to minimize, in as much as is possible, the imposition of one set of values over any other.
